Fax Software: set the "Number of RINGs before answering" to 1. Don't forget the switch fax software off before attaching the script. After the proper script is attached, and system is restarted, select the "Fax@xxx port" in your fax software settings, and switch fax software on.
FaxSTF™ 3.0: Make sure that the "LineManager" is switched off.
Locate the FaxMonitor file in the Extensions folder and move it into the System Folder: it will result in FaxSTF software being loaded after LineShare. Or make it be loaded after LineShare using a Start-up management utility, if you have one.

ARA™ software: "call answering" should be switched off before attaching a script. When the proper script is attached and the system is restarted, open the Remote Setup control panel and select "ARA/LineShare" from the modem menu, and "ARA@xxxxx port" from the Port menu. Then switch "call answering" on.
On some systems Finder does not route the ARA/LineShare file to the Extension folder automatically. If it has been put into the System Folder, move it to the Extension folder manually.
QuickMail™: switch "Call answering" off before reconfiguring the Connection Tool for Data@XXXX port. Otherwise, QuickMail will continue to use the main port. See "Using Apple Modem Tool" below.
FirstClass™: use "CTB" and "Apple Modem Tool". Configure everything, and select the "Data@XXXX Port". Close the configuration application and open it again. Verify the settings: if the port selected is the "Modem Port" again, select the proper Data port, close and check again.
Using Apple Modem Tool (AMT): if your modem is not listed in the tool, don't worry: since LineShare controls the modem with its own script, there is no need for special settings in AMT. Just create a new modem descriptor: with old version of AMT, use the "Custom…" selection, with AMT 1.5 or better use"Modify this Menu…" and "Add…". Use "LineShare" as the modem name, put AT&F into "Initialization", and check the "Modem auto-buffers connect speeds".
*MAKE SURE that the Port Speed set in the "Options" dialog box of LineShare and the "Baud Rate" setting in AMT are EQUAL*
